A History of Paper Premieres at the Traverse Theatre in August 2024
A History of Paper by Oliver Emanuel and Gareth Williams, commissioned by Dundee Rep Theatre, premiered at the Traverse Theatre as part of the Made in Scotland Showcase at Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2024. The work was awarded a Fringe First, A Scottish Arts Club award for Theatre, and was named winner of the Best Musical at the Fringe by Musical Theatre Review.

Composer and songwriter Gareth Williams is a Chancellor’s Fellow at Edinburgh College of Art. His compositions seek to find new relationships, participants, collaborators and audiences for new opera, music theatre, and song, to shed light on stories and communities that have been overlooked, and to explore ideas of vulnerability in vocal writing.
